If you are looking for a quiet escape, Delhi has a plethora of libraries where you can soak in the whimsy of the bookshelf, find rare reads, or just spend a quiet day in the comfort of AC away from the city’s hustle. Storing up to 16 lakh books across genres and languages, Delhi Public Library is perhaps the best in the list ( but you have to carry a proof of Delhi residency). The American Library, on the other hand, provides free access to books, audiobooks, and DVDs. If you are into manga and Japanese anime, the Japan Foundation Library is a goldmine. Most of these libraries across the city provide quite affordable membership or even cheap day passes, or free entry.
