Bollywood’s King Khan is turning 60 soon, and to commemorate the superstar, PVR Inox, India’s largest film exhibition company, is hosting a whopping two-week film festival screening Shah Rukh Khan’s most iconic films. With movies spanning three decades of his career, this festival guarantees sold-out seats, given the star’s massive fan base in India.
Where and when does the Shah Rukh Khan film festival take place?
Starting on October 31 to celebrate Shah Rukh’s birthday on November 2, the film festival will span across 75 cinema houses in over 30 cities.
Fans can catch his cult-classic films like Om Shanti Om and Main Hoon Na on screen starting this month. Further, action comedy like Chennai Express, epic romantic saga like Devdas, and political drama like Dil Se are part of the two-week festival. Remaining hits include recent blockbuster Jawan and romantic comedy Kabhi Ha Kabhi Na.
“Cinema has always been my home, and seeing these films find their way back to the big screen feels like a beautiful reunion,” said Shah Rukh Khan in a recent statement. “These movies are not just my stories; they belong to the audience that has lovingly embraced them over the last 33 years.”
A symbolic homage to Bollywood’s biggest superstar, this festival gives people across all generations to either relive his timeless classics or experience for the first time the actor’s iconic films that make up the very fabric of the Indian film industry.
Niharika Bijli, the lead strategist at PVR Inox, further states that Shah Rukh Khan is “more than a global icon – he’s an emotion,” and that the festival is “a tribute to his artistry – and to the joy and hope he continues to bring to audiences around the world.”
