Inspired by the successful “Lectures on Tap” movement in the US, Pint of View brings this refreshing format to India for the first time. The concept is simple. The community hosts research lectures on science, art, history, culture, and so much more. It is paired with a glass of chilled craft beer on the side. And, if you are a teetotaler, there is a thoughtfully crafted mocktail waiting for you.
Nevertheless, it isn’t a back-to-the-classroom gig. The sessions are led by experts who have spent a lifetime honing their fields beyond the confines of Google and Wikipedia. The lectures can stretch across topics. For instance, the lecture, “Climate Under Pressure: Tracing Human Influence, Extreme Weather, and What Comes Next” by Prof. Krishna Achutarao, goes beyond numbers and headlines to unpack the effects of climate change in our everyday life. With presentations grounded in research, and complete with maps, facts, figures, and sustainable data, thinking here is a collective action. It is shaped by the exchange of questions and ideas.
Moreover, if you find yourself thrilled by the cosmos, the scientific talks on string theory, quantum physics, and universal exchanges. Or if you find yourself curious about ways of life, they have also had sessions on the mysteries of sleep, love, animal minds, and even how to make a song from scratch. How does the format work?
The speciality of the format lies in the multidisciplinary diversity. The speakers can range from scientists, beekeepers, designers, and even carpet collectors. Because learning doesn’t belong to just one kind of expert. Each session can be 45 minutes to two hours long. However, they do not just end with lectures. It is a space for the curious. You can ask questions without judgment and think outside the box without being boxed in. Pint of View further hosts quiz nights for intellectual minds; there is laughter, warmth, wrong answers, right answers, but mostly a shared space of ideas, not loudness of opinions. All of this unfolds in Delhi’s bars, where beers keep flowing to fuel conversations.

Pint of View hosts regular sessions across the city, and each venue can be different from the previous. Tickets are sold online, either with partner event platforms or on their Instagram page. Additionally, each booking reveals the meeting point and gives access to one complimentary drink. Each session is meant to be new and different from the previous, so pick what picks your brain.
