Took a while, but it is finally here! Everyone’s favourite toymaker, the Lego Group, officially launched its first store in India. A 4,500 square feet flagship store in Gurugram’s Ambience Mall is South Asia’s largest Lego store. It features over 800 products, including 250 products exclusively available in-store. The store itself is a treat to visit with life-size mosaics of vehicles, local monuments, Indian cricketers, action figurines, and so much more sprinkled throughout.
What to expect in the store?
From a colossal range of products to the creative ways it has been displayed, the Lego store is built to spend hours among its walls. Offering an interactive, hands-on atmosphere, it is designed for customers to participate in activities in real time. Dedicated play zones and Lego challenges are further introduced in-store for live workshop opportunities.
Following, one can witness the pick a brick wall filled with batches of coloured lego bricks, a build-a-mini-figure station, several play tables and ofcourse the several mosaic figures- although a truck made entirely of lego bricks has to be our favourite so far!
With hundreds of products on display, it is not just a go-to store before your neighbours’ kids’ birthday party, but instead houses products meant to be enjoyed by all. Whether you are six or sixty-six, we recommend buying a box and getting to building. Way to reduce your phone screentime (or time to ditch those mandala colourbooks for a better stress management tool)!
The products all hold a spectrum of price points. Some products start from INR 449 and rise steadily to a whopping INR 88,000 for advanced collectables.
Expansion of Lego stores in India
In collaboration with retail franchise partner Ample Group, they have planned to launch Lego stores in several cities in India. Bangalore’s Orion Mall is next in line, followed by a steady expansion throughout the country. 30 locations nationwide within the next five years, to be precise. With a sharp increase in Lego sales, particularly among adult consumers, the company seeks to jump onto the bandwagon of India’s growing toy industry.
According to Rajesh Narang, Founder & CEO at the Ample Group, “With the launch of South Asia’s Largest LEGO® Certified Store, we are not just introducing a brand but offering families a space to imagine, play and create memories together. Our goal is to deliver experiences that go beyond shopping, where every visit feels special and interaction adds value.”
