Delhi has always been a chaotic capital. It honks, crowds, and glows. It is not a city we often associate with silence or slow movement. And yet, there is a quiet charm tucked in its age-old corners where golden architecture blends with the modern buildings. Nevertheless, even just for a few minutes, it is now possible to see the capital in a completely different light. For the first time ever, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has introduced the city’s very first hot air balloon ride. In partnership with Rajas Aerosports and Adventures, visitors can literally be on cloud nine with a rare chance to rise above Delhi’s bustling streets and view its ever-evolving skyline.
Hot Air Balloon In Delhi

As part of its eco-tourism initiative, the DDA launched the hot air balloon experience in Delhi starting November 29, 2025. The tethered ride lifts visitors 120 feet above the Yamuna bank to take in the sweeping views of the city’s landmarks, riverfront parks, and urban landscape. The first location to debut the experience is Baansera Park, a 10-hectare bamboo grove along the Yamuna floodplains near Salar Kale Khan.
As you hover over in a balloon basket, you can spot picturesque views of the Akshardham Temple, the Signature Bridge arc, the riverfront’s recreational zones, and a panoramic stretch of the city. Each ride lasts around 8 to 10 minutes, with prices starting at ₹ 2,360 per person. Moreover, the balloon can accommodate four people at a time. For your safety, we recommend not crowding in too many. Currently, the ride operates only for an hour, between 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM. But keep your hopes high as the DDA plans to add more time slots in the future.
While Baansera Park is the first location to go live, the DDA plans to expand the ballooning project to four more locations, including Asita on Yamuna Riverfront, Yamuna Sports Complex, and the Commonwealth Games Village Sports Complex. Additionally, visitors’ safety is of utmost priority, with each ride operated by a skilled and certified private agency, approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DCGA). Each flight undergoes strict safety and security checks to ensure a seamless experience.
Currently, the tickets can be purchased directly at the venue; however, an online booking and slot system is underway.
With Delhi’s new take off, the experience is in line with a broader plan of reviving the city’s green spaces and making public spaces accessible, open, and recreational. Set against the backdrop of the Yamuna, the hot air balloon offers a fresh new perspective to halt, pause, and look down on our beloved capital in a whole new light.
