Delhi weather update: After weeks of extreme ‘hot and humid’ conditions, Delhi is finally getting some much-needed weather change. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted seven days of rain and thunderstorms, which started on June 15. Accompanied by gusty winds reaching 50-60 km/hour and thunderstorms, the searing temperatures will soon be brought down a bit.
As quoted by NDTV, the official IMD statement reads, “The national capital is set to witness generally cloudy skies with very light to moderate rainfall, thunderstorms, dust storms, and lightning till June 19. Gusty winds are also expected during thunderstorms.”
Updated weather predictions for this week in Delhi
Expect thunderstorms during evenings as maximum temperatures will reach 36-38 degrees Celsius during the day, and minimum temperatures will be around 23-26 degrees Celsius.
June 16: Cloudy skies with max temperatures reaching up to 34 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius.
June 17: Cloudy skies throughout the day with thunderstorms in the morning. Maximum temperatures will go to 35 degrees Celsius with a minimum of 26 degrees Celsius.
June 18: Thunderstorms are expected with high humidity that will reach a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius. A minimum of 27 degrees Celsius will be recorded.
June 19: Thunderstorms in the morning with cloudy weather throughout. The maximum temperature will reach 35 degrees Celsius, and the minimum will be 29 degrees Celsius.
June 20: Bright sky with spotty clouds and humid temperatures reaching 34 degrees Celsius, with a minimum of 28 degrees Celsius.
June 21: Morning thunderstorms with cloudy skies, with temperatures reaching 37 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 29 degrees Celsius.
