2. Battle Royale | Nature Morte

Held at Nature Morte’s Dhan Mill gallery space, this exhibition focuses on larger-than-life art pieces that communicate prestige, authority and power. An amalgamation of works from Neeraj Patel, Basist Kumar, Nidhi Agarwal and Ayesha Singh, they all represent antithetical styles and compositions. This contemporary art gallery spectacles experiential and conceptual art and has been thriving in the capital city for over twenty five years now.

3. Madras Modern | DAG (Delhi Art Gallery)
2nd June to 6th July 2024
A slice of Modern Indian art, this exhibition focuses solely on the movement started in the coastal city of Madras (now Chennai) by students searching for authenticity derived from the context of the city’s cultural heritage. A synthesis of several artists, this exhibition is an interplay between modernity and traditions. As stated, it adds ‘another rich dimension to the multiverse of modern Indian art.’

4. Mirror/Maze: Echoes of Song, Space, Spectre | KNMA (Kiran Nadar Museum of Art)

If you missed the same in Delhi, you can catch this marvellous exhibition not far in Noida! An ode to the creative process of an artist, this exhibition highlights the meticulousness of their craft. It further demonstrates their courage to leave their comfort zones to walk into the unfamiliar road to creation. You can walk through the exhibition’s maze-like corridors towards illuminated or dark spaces that reflect the work of several artists contributing to it.

5. Lodhi Art District
Unlike other galleries with long corridors and numbered artworks, the Lodhi art district in Delhi is a long walk across a neighbourhood with murals painted by over 50 Indian as well as international artists. From Polish artists introducing spray painting techniques, Singaporean artists replicating everyday scenes to portrait murals reflecting independence. An ongoing project, this urban art scene brings aspects of surrealism, abstract art and so much more into play while walking us through the rich and shared experiences witnessed in the city.
